I Decorated My Bathroom With What?

If you don't love books...especially old, dusty, yellowed ones...

...then perhaps we can't be friends anymore  you won't like the way I decorated my bathroom. ;)

My Frenchy bathroom, connected to our bedroom, is always always getting an update.

First, there were flowers.

Then, came a topiary.

Today, my wedding bouquet atop three classic books.

Emily Post's Etiquette guide, Education of a Princess and Wuthering Heights - my favorite book.

Recently, I added a collection of old books to this distressed shelf.

I like surrounding myself with "old" things, especially literature.

I don't plan to read these {ahem} while I'm IN the bathroom.

My kids barge in on me as it is. {"Mommy, what are you DOING? I couldn't FIND you!"}

My favorite necklace: An old locket I found at an antique store.

~Sweet Sutton and Grand Grayson~ Easter 2013

A dictionary from 1935.

An old hymnal from 1955. I grew up singing these songs, and I miss using hymnals.

Maybe it's "different" {as my husband said with a polite shrug}, and maybe I'll change it tomorrow...

...But for now, there are books in my bathroom.

Because books deserve to be everywhere.

Do you love decorating with books?

Thanks for visiting!

Please continue to pray for the Philippines and for the people in Illinois due to the recent tornadoes.

I like the book vignette the best! I love Wuthering Heights! I also love Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I think I've seen every version of the movie they've made. Though, I know the books are always better. I love reading and really need to collect my favorite books and get back to it.

I like the last one the vest!

And I totally read books in a bathroom. In fact, that's almost the only place where I can find a few minutes for "myself" :)

Oh what a riot and it's just lovely! You did a great job decorating and I really like it. My daughter is a book nut...I'm going to have to tell her about your bathroom.
Have a great week.

Everywhere you look in my house are stacks and stacks of books. However, I have woefully neglected my bathrooms. Thank you for setting me straight. I am going to correct that now! Love all the looks.

Yes, books are an important part of decorating, even in the bathroom. Would you believe I haven't read Wuthering Heights. I have the book. I bet everyone has read it but me. Love your vintage locket. I have enjoyed hanging out in antique stores lately. I like to change things frequently too. It's just fun! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones. :)

What's fun in decorating is if you don't like you can always change it..........but, I love what you've done. I love a stack of books with a candle, books stacked on a teeny table next to my bed. Hope you are enjoying a long holiday weekend Meredith.

I love what you've done here! I'm thinking my cats would find a way to topple the vase of flowers, unfortunately, so I'll just have to gaze at the photos in longing...
