Today's quote is one of my favorites.
Then again, I have a lot of favorites.
William James quoted:
"The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook."
I think of it often, but I really, really wish I could apply the words.
Sometimes I do. For example, if (in my head) I start blowing some tiny instance out of proportion, once in a while I'll stop and think - you know, Meredith, you should probably be overlooking this!
I think knowing what to overlook can be difficult. Conversely, sometimes I think we shrug off things and overlook what should really be evaluated.
Thought For the Day: What do you overlook a bit too often? What things do you need to take a closer look at?
